Notifications and email

How your inbox, the daily email digest, the weekly summary and push notifications work, and how to turn each one off.

All plansWeb appUpdated 26 Oct 2026

Everything Pilot Lab has to tell you lands in your inbox first. Email and push are extra ways of hearing about it, and you choose which.

To change them, click your avatar in the top bar, choose Settings, then open the Notifications tab. How this works at the top of the page sums up what follows.

Your inbox

The inbox is the record. Turning email or push off never removes anything from it, and nothing in it is lost if you miss an email.

The daily email digest

Once a day, from 8 am in your timezone, Pilot Lab emails you a list of the inbox items you have not opened yet.

  • It lists each item by its title and one line, never the text of a message.
  • Each item is listed once. If you leave it unopened, it is not emailed again the next day.
  • Nothing is sent on a day with nothing unopened.

The table on the Notifications tab has a row for each kind of item and an Email column. Turn a row off to leave that kind out of the digest, or turn Everything off to stop the digest.

Every digest also has Unsubscribe from this digest at the bottom. One click turns the digest off. You can turn it back on from the same table.

Entries waiting for you

If you leave drafts unfinished for more than three days, have flights that Pilot Lab filled in from flight data, or have scanned logbook pages waiting for review, one inbox item tells you how many are waiting and opens the right list. It is updated while you have not opened it, rather than repeated. After you open it, it comes back a week later if there is still something waiting.

It is the Entries waiting for you row in the table, so you can turn it off for email or push like any other row.

The weekly summary

On Monday morning, Pilot Lab sends a separate email with:

  • the hours you flew last week, and how that compares with the week before,
  • a chart of your hours in each of the last eight weeks, with the weekly average,
  • your hours in the last 30 days,
  • entries still waiting for you, and
  • anything that expires in the next 30 days, such as a medical or a flight review.

Every hours figure comes from your logbook totals, the same numbers your logbook shows. It is not sent in a week with nothing to report. It has its own Weekly summary switch below the table, and its own unsubscribe link. Turning the daily digest off does not turn the weekly summary off.

Push

Push is an alert on your phone from the Pilot Lab mobile app as soon as an item arrives. Use the Push column in the same table to choose which kinds of item can alert you.

Other emails

  • Product updates is an occasional email when a notable release ships. Turn it on or off below the table.
  • Welcome, trial and membership emails are managed from the link at the bottom of each of those emails.
  • Emails your account needs, such as sign in codes and security notices, are always sent.
