Founding Members
Finish the Getting Started checklist to claim one of a limited number of Founding Member places. The standing is permanent and belongs to you.
Founding Member is a standing for the pilots who helped shape Pilot Lab early on. You earn it by using the product, not by paying, and there are a limited number of places.
How to earn it
Work through the Getting Started checklist on your home page. That checklist is the whole programme. There is nothing extra to sign up for.
When you complete the last item, Pilot Lab claims a place for you automatically, if one is still available. You get a notification and a welcome email with your Founding Member number, and the next time you open Pilot Lab a You are a Founding Member window welcomes you.
To check your progress or your standing, click your avatar in the top bar, choose Preferences, then open the Profile tab and scroll down to Founding Member. While you are working through the checklist it shows how far you have got, for example 4 of 6 done. Once you hold a place, the Founding badge appears there, and also on your card at the top of the avatar menu with your membership number.
If you have finished the checklist and places are open but you do not yet hold one, the section shows a Claim your place button. Choose it to claim your place.
What it gives you
- Permanent standing. It belongs to you as a person, not to a workspace, and it does not expire.
- Early access. Workspaces you own get some features before they are released more widely.
- The locked founding price if you subscribe to Pro. Your price then stays fixed for as long as you stay subscribed. The Billing & Plans page shows Locked price when this applies. Cancelling ends the lock.
Being a Founding Member does not by itself turn on Pro. The core logbook is free either way, and Pro is still a subscription. See Free and Pro compared.
If the places run out
If every place has been taken by the time you finish, the section says All Founding Member places have been taken. Nothing you added is lost, and your core logbook stays free.
Your membership number
Every account has a Membership number, shown at the top of the Founding Member section. It identifies you if you contact us. It is not the same as a Founding Member place number.
Tell us how it went
Below your progress, Tell us how it went asks a few short questions about your experience. Answer with Send, or choose Skip. None of them affect your place, and a person reads every answer.
